Feed Me
While I do now read most of my favorite blogs via RSS, I find that there is still a better sense of personality and place for personal blogs when you browse the old fashioned way.
But here is why RSS is good: I use a pocket PC and my cell phone (occasionally) to read news feeds. They rock because they come with me and strip out everything but the post and accompanying images. Compact web browsers do not rock. Most web pages do not scale to a small screen at all. And my RSS readers do the searching for me. They're better than auto-updating link lists because they only pull down updated content, and they will pull down everything new since the last time I updated.
This is really excellent for technical information and news tidbits. But honestly, it removes feeling that good web design imparts. Or… I guess I just don't find erotica via RSS to be all that sexy. Or… I guess that I often can't read RSS in a place where I can let myself go.
At any rate, It's just not the same.
Today I gave myself the treat of going through all of my links, browsing one by one. And I loved it. I just wish I had more time to keep reading that way. Or maybe I need to reduce the nuber of feeds I read so there's more time for regular browsing. Or something.

I do the same thing, because I read so many blogs and so many types of blogs, it is just easier to get them all in one place.
But I like to comment a lot, and often I will read a post and think "I'd like to comment on that" and I'll try to remember to go to the blog to actually comment, and then I forget, and by the time I remember the post is a week old and then it just feels silly to comment.
Plus I think you get a better 'feel' for a blog if you actually visit it, especially for bloggers that put a lot of work into their sites.
Um, ditto.
RSS does take out a little of the sense of interactivity.
Also? Thank you for including your *entire post* in your feed.
Seriously!
Yeah, RSS is wicked for work because when I can steal a few minutes it looks like I'm reading something really important and medical when in actuallity I'm reading about soulless' golden caddie.
:D Yeah. It's true. RSS can make a lot of different content more work safe.
